I’m sure you’ve already heard about the Deoxyribonucleic acid or much known as DNA. DNA is a self-replicating material present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the fundamental and distinctive characteristics or qualities of someone or something, especially when regarded as unchangeable, in other words, every living thing has a unique distinction, every individual has a distinctive DNA and identity. Even if you have your twin, there’s still something in you that your twin doesn’t have and there is something to your twin that makes him different from you.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalms 139:14
Many people have a problem when it comes to identifying their identity. Especially for those who are in the adolescent and teen age stage. According to one seminar that I’ve attended which talks about a person’s identity, people are identified in many and different ways, but mostly, a person is identified through their attitude, their behavior, habits, preferences in life, appearance and how they judge the things that they encounter.
“Identity is this incredible invisible force that controls your whole life. it’s invisible, like gravity is invisible, but it controls your whole life.” Tony Robbins
But one thing that the word ‘identity’ tells us is that you must learn that who you are is your Self-identity and is not identify by what other say or what other decides for you, it must be you who should decide for yourself, it is your chance to create a unique you the way your DNA is extraordinary.
Your identity is all about your talents, it’s your strengths, it’s your passions, it’s what you love, it’s where you are happy and feels blessed, it’s what you care about, and your identity can only be found in Christ.
“Your life is hid with Christ in God” Colossians 3:3
Paul said in Philippians 4:13, “I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.”
One of the greatest lessons in life is to learn that your true value does not come from people; it comes from Almighty God. Yet many people today rely on the complements, encouragement and approval of others to feel good about themselves and stay motivated.
