A new year has arrived and, that means we need to do our annual new year’s resolution. We have a lot of unspoken promises to ourselves.

“Starting this year, I will sleep early as ever!”
“I’ll go on a diet and eat healthy foods.”
“I will leave my laziness behind.”
“I’ll be more productive this year!”
“I’ll stop procrastinating.”
And the list goes on…
I bet you only did one or nothing at all from your list. How funny, at the same time, sad, that we’re only encouraged to do better during the first week of the new year. After that, we are back to zero. Scratch. Nada.
Instead of a new year’s resolution, why not write it as your
“Faith Goals”? Oh, wait? What’s “Faith Goals”?
Faith Goals is just like your usual New Year’s Resolution. The only thing that differs is your goals and desires that you will write will be guided and will be given by our Almighty God in His perfect time.
Faith Goals are your dreams, goals, and desires, that you truly and wholeheartedly prayed to God.
Faith Goals will be given by the Lord through His unconditional love and mercy, which was paired by your unshakable faith.
But, how do you do it?
First, take your time to ask and pray to God. After that, get a pen and paper to list down all your goals for this year. Kindly organize it accordingly, in this way you can easily read it.
You can categorize your goals with Personal, Spiritual, Academics/Employment, Financial, Mental/Emotional, etc.

You can write it down in a S.M.A.R.T way.
Specific - List it down in a specific way. The more specific it is, the better.
Measurable - Make sure you can measure and oversee your progress.
Attainable/Achievable - Make realistic goals according to your lifestyle and status. For example, if you wanted to save a million for this year yet you’re still a student who’s just receiving a monthly allowance from your parents, then I think it’s too early for that.
Relevant - Make sure it is aligned with your purpose and dreams.
Time-bound - Include your starting date and preferred deadline. Try to set a target date, so you can push yourself to strive until you reach your goal.
Remember to put only your desires that will bring out the best in you. Don’t put any selfish goals that will do no good to you and others as well.
Lastly, it is not called Faith Goals if you will not put your trust and faith in God. All of these will be nothing if you didn’t put God in the center of your life. Always trust Him, regardless of your Faith Goals will be answered or not.
As Jeremiah 29:11-13 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me will all your heart.”
Now, why not grab a pen and paper to write down your goals for this year? Do not let the hindrances take away the opportunity for you to start this year with a blast.
May God grant and bless your heart’s desires for this year.
Here are suggested books that will inspire your day!
