Be Like a Tree. Stay Grounded, Keep Growing, and Know When to Let Go

Updated: Nov 25, 2020

One of the strong living creations of God that we haven’t noticed are the trees. Why? People and animals can hide and keep themselves safe whenever there is a storm coming but the trees stand still and face the storm fearlessly.

“A tree with strong roots laughs at storms.” – malay proverb

YOUR PROBLEMS ARE TEMPORARY; GOD IS ETERNAL

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Most of us complain about the number of burdens that we are facing every day without thinking and acknowledging the purpose of it in our lives.

We can admit that during the darkest and deepest times of us, it’s hard to trust and look upon God, it is because we think our problems are big enough that it covers God but the truth is God is bigger than our problems.

Remember that what you are facing right now is just temporary, sooner or later it will pass by but the God that you have right now is a God of eternal who never leaves nor forsakes us. He is the only one who has the power to turn your sadness into gladness, sorrow into joy, trials into triumphs, and to turn mourning into a new morning.

God may allow you to have hard times in life, not because he doesn’t love you but because it is one of His ways to show and increase your vision in life and make and use you mightily and effectively in His kingdom.

Take note, trees are beautiful at its finest but it is not exempted when the storm comes. After all, trees know that storms come and go.

TRUST GOD AND PRAY

“I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, and I tell you, don’t be afraid. I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13

You might think that once you start your journey with the Lord, you are not exempted in terms of worries and difficulties but the fact is not. From the moment you face God that is also the moment you turn away from this world.

Remember, you are in this world full of sins, once you turn away from this world, problems and trials may come along your way.

Do not think that it’s a bad decision to follow Christ; it is actually the best part, because from the moment you face God that is also the moment God is with you all through out of your life, in good and in bad times, even in terms of studies, works, family, relationships, and personal matters.

Our God has a unique way to talk to you; one of it is through the bible, and to answer Him back; don’t be shy to call him in prayers, 24/7 He is free when it comes to you.

The trees know that the larger the rain falls, the stronger and mightier they will become.

IN ORDER FOR YOU TO SEE THE BRIGHTER SIDE, YOU NEED TO MOVE FORWARD

“The pain that you’ve been feeling can’t compare to the joy that’s coming” Romans 8:18

When difficulties come along the way, most of us stop from moving forward, thinking and complaining that it’s harder than what they taught. The truth is, there is no easy road to success, and you might encounter bumps in the road, you may pass in a rough road way, there will be up and down hill, and traffic may come along the way. It may be hard at first glance and a big courage is what you need at first step but take heart!

When the people of Israel saw Goliath, they became afraid but when David saw Goliath, he saw how Big God is (1 Samuel 17) and he moved forward to fight and to show the people how great our God is.

Sometimes, or most of the time rather, we should not look at how big, difficult and plentiful our problems are, we need to bring out our David inside us to have an eye that can see how Big our God is over our problems.

It’s not about the problems or the darker side; it’s how God will be with you when you take your first step in order to see the light.

“Look at a tree when you lose hope. First it was a seed below the ground and only with patience it was able to touch the sky above” – Roxana Jones

BE LIKE A TREE. STAY GROUNDED, KEEP GROWING, AND KNOW WHEN TO LET GO - tinybuddha

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

The very good lesson that we can get from trees is that they started as a small seed and just a little patience, they became plants and soon they will grow bigger and bigger and better. But no matter how big and strong and mightier they will become, they are humble and stay grounded, and when there’s a dead leaf, they know when and how to let it go.

We all started not only as a baby but someone who has none, we grow and grow, we learn and learn, we become better and better, at the end, thanks to life circumstances. But no matter how great you become, do not forget to step on the ground and to bow down to God. All the things that you have right now are all because of God who gives us the knowledge, wisdom and understanding and strength.

No matter how high your position in life is, the sky is still higher than you.

It’s not bad to become great, it is actually what God wants you to become.

He wants you to become the head and not the tail but throughout your journey, your heart, attitude and character is better than any things in this world.

The tiny seed underneath the ground is far more important than the topmost leaves it has, because it is how ALL started.
